ABOUT US

WHO WE ARE

The Centre for Development Studies and Action (CDSA), established in 2011, is dedicated to empowering socially, educationally, and financially excluded groups, with a particular emphasis on women, female children, youth, and persons with disabilities.

CDSA is a rights-based organization founded by a team of seasoned professionals with extensive experience in the development sector. Our mission is to build a robust network of individuals across rural and urban areas, engaging in various domains such as skill development, financial inclusion, training, capacity building, model-building, policy analysis, collaborative research, and advocacy.

Our strategy includes collaboration with state governments, corporates, civil society organizations, and other key stakeholders to promote social change and participatory democracy. We focus on education, awareness, democratic mobilization, advocacy, and empowerment, with a special emphasis on training programs for women and female children. Committed to the principles of liberty, equality, and fraternity, CDSA strives to create a just society where everyone, especially women and female children, can thrive.

VISION

  • To create a society without poverty and to strive towards economic empowerment of society based on constitutional and democratic values
  • In order to lead a dignified life wherein every individual strives towards and contributes to the development and sustenance of the human rights culture of the society and its core values i.e. equal rights and a life of dignity for the most marginalised

MISSION

  • Capacity development of underprivileged communities to create a democratic social order and promote sustainable livelihood through training, research, advocacy and lobbying with the government, corporate sectors and other important actors
  • Empowerment of vulnerable communities through education, livelihood and human rights awareness

OBJECTIVE

  • To reduce poverty by promoting and facilitating income generation opportunities
  • To provide required trainings to equip youth, especially girls and young women to gain employability
  • To promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills among underprivileged section of society
  • To sensitise and create awareness about education, higher education and vocational career available
  • To develop interest amongst and motivate rural students, especially tribal and girls in order to increase their enrollment and attendance in school
  • To ensure Gender Justice and inculcate attitude based on equality within urban and rural societies
  • To advocate the rights of women and other marginalized sections and to ensure their access to democratic institutions in order to empower them
  • To undertake research and studies in order to document the gaps between policy and implementation processes
  • To propose policy interventions for building an inclusive society through empowerment of the socially and economically excluded communities
  • To disseminate information regarding government schemes and other welfare measures for the benefit of the citizens of the country
